Got a new experience yesterday. My right exhaust stack broke off during flight. Just behind rear weld from down of rear cylinder. It certanly got my attention...
Anyway, this leads to my question;
My exhaust stacks just hangs down from cylinder and out below cowling. There is nothing that takes up vibration, like springs or stiffners to firewall or alike. Is this really how it is supposed to be? No wonder it breaks in the end? Eagles has a spring system in the lower end... Anyone that could fill me in on this? Or even show me a picture how to mod this to a more rigid way to mount?
