• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I saw where JimW posted that he was getting ready to order his akro belts... seems like people are really moving along with their projects.

So... what have you accomplished since the beginning of the year ?

Me...
Decided to put the original bungee truss onmy R version instead of the hydraulic system they show on the plans (a hydraulic system - which hasn't been tried yet.) The truss is made and will be tacked on tomorrow.

Started the fuselage and I've got it to the point that I'll be flipping it over in the jig (right-side up) to finished measuring, cutting and notching the tubes so that I can put it on a rotisserie and do the finish welds on it. Then all the little fun stuff to be added to the fuselage will begin.

Followed Scottly's lead and have made a set of kick-arse throttle quads. My custom knobs should be here next week. Did some custom artwork on the face of each front plate. As soon as I get the knobs I attachthem to the quad lever and post a photo of the completed quads.

Made the jig fixture for the main fuel tank. I'll start working on that in the next few weeks.

The Douglas Fir spars arrived a few weeks ago. Once I get the fuselage all welded up I can start working on the wings again.

I think that about does it.
