In fabricating the bell cranks for ailerons for my EAA Bi-Plane. I came across discrepancy in the rod ends called out for on the plans. Seems the bell cranks are drilled .250 for the bolts to attach the rod ends to bell crank at both locations. Rod Eye called out is 5/16â diameter, thru hole X 5/16 X 24 male thread stud. I cannot locate a rod eye that has 1/4â thru hole in bearing eye with a 5/16 â 24 stud. I can find ¼ x ¼-28 rod eyes all day long. Any one have any insight as to why ¼â would not be ok. Static loads on ¼â unit was in the 1600 lbs range.Working out load data as we speak to double check, any thoughts?
