I'm entering the phase of the build where I will be using reamers to finish holes, which is an operation I've never done before. I've found information on using reamers, but no real advice on selecting them.
I will have to ream holes in 4130 brackets, and I will have to ream holes in spruce spars. These are the two big uses for building the wing, which is as far ahead as I'm thinking right now. The reamer sizes I've spotted in the plans so far are .190", .25", .313" and .5".
My questions are probably pretty simple, but I haven't found an answer yet:
* Straight or spiral flutes?
* Chucking reamers or hand reamers?
I can see arguments for every combination, but I'd love to know what you guys are using to actually build planes.
