Just wanting to give this group a heads up on a project that I have been working on with Sensenich. We are now producing an affordable, high performance, four-cylinder aerobatic specific propeller! We have been using two single place Pitts as testing platforms. One S-1C with an O-320 and another S-1S with a IO-360. These propellers are a great replacement for the old metal propellers. The best part about them is the weight savings. Going from a metal Sensenich 76EM8-60 to the new wood core composite prop was a 24lb savings. It yielded a more balanced and lighter control feel in all axis. As for performance, zero loss over the metal propeller. I have yet to see another wood core composite propeller post better numbers than a metal Sensenich prop. We have been running these propellers with standard Vans RV 13” spinners kits and they look amazing.
Now the million dollar question, how much? $2000. There seems to be a large gap in the market for fixed pitch aerobatic propellers. We wanted to keep this prop affordable and accessible so you can spend more money on the fuel going into the tank.
I am super excited to be a part of this project and very excited to see and hear them at more contest. Feel free to contact me for more information!
