Bought the Shock Cord Installation Tool for $279.00 off of Aircraft Spruce. Used it to install the shock cords on my Star Duster Too. Took an hour and a half to clean the threads on the shaft good enough so the bolt that stretches the cords would travel the entire length of the threaded rod. Even if we had a thread chaser we couldn't use it cause the end of the rod is such that you can't remove the nut to use one. Now don't get me wrong, it was difficult to do with this tool but it would have been impossible without it. It is designed like the one in the Star Duster newsletter but I figured by the time I bought the materials and a welder or had someone weld one up for me it would have cost me as much or more. At any rate I have it now and can use it again the next time they need replacing.
