Turns out the guy before me welded the gear incorrectly and it is easier to put on a complete new one. Steen wants $1900 and 3 months.

Thanks for all the emails. I decided to put a Groves gear on...

Edit: I would like to still see if there are any Skybolt gears out there.

I'm putting the Grove gear on a friends Skybolt now. Pretty easy if it's already opened up.
The Grove plans are pretty good.

That sounds nice. Just thinking I want to keep things simple. It would be nice to see pictures, do you have any of the install? How many hours total do you think this job takes?
