This is probably overkill, but I wrote up a checklist for our IO-360 Fixed Pitch Skybolt. With a few modifications, you could easily make it work for any engine combination or even a Pitts/Starduster I would think.

It's intended as a landscape tri-fold/double-sided on card stock. Includes Preflight/Normal checklists. As printed you just flip your way through the checklist. I used NASA's recommended fonts/size/case etc...

The dashed line on the Before Takeoff is meant as a "break".. the final items "Below the line" are accomplished when taking the runway for takeoff.

The indented items are reminders for me - you could easily eliminate them (I can never remember Min oil pressures etc).

    Start engine. Taxi out.

    Canopy
    Controls
    Fuel

Go beat up the airplane, land, taxi in. Shut down.
    Mixture, master, mags.

To each his own I guess ;)

Let me see if I can get the forum to let me upload it.. It's in openoffice format (doesn't seem to like .odt or .docx files).

I carried a checklist until it flew out..
    After the run up..
    CIGARS
    Contols
    Instruments
    Gas
    Attitude (trim)
    Radios
    Switches (fuel pump)

    and

    GUMPS

    Gas
    UnderCarriage and cleared to land
    Mixture
    Prop(s)
    Switches (Fuel Pump)

    for landing.

It beats looking all over the county for my checklist that blew out..

With a Captain inspired screen name I wouldn't expect anything less than a Boeing/Airbus inspired laundry list. Post #3 is pretty good.

Don't hate. I can attest that forgetting to review the Aresti diagram during a contest flight is a really sucky feeling. Did that plenty last year. If only I had a monoplane, I'd have enough time on those uplines to find that item in the checklist and then look at the damn card so I can remember what the hell I'm supposed to do next. :)

I *told* you was overkill. :)

The preflight checklist is based on the one the builder made for the airplane.

The other items based on stuff I've forgotten (apparently I forget a lot - old age I guess). Yes, a quick review of the Aresti before starting the sequences helps those of us with aging memories (mine is really good - it's just very short).

In any case, use, modify, disregard or lose overboard as you wish!

Nobody forgets to review the before part, it's the during part that's problematic. :)

Mine disappeared out of the cockpit along with my compass deviation card. Somewhere over Northern New York State.

Doesn't matter, this is the new snowflake era. Hurt feelings override safety and common sense.
