• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hello,

I had a squeak in the left rudder peddel break of a certified pitts S2B. When the plane was opened up my instructor and I figured out that the solid break line/tube was rubbing on the fiber glass from seat molding. So my instructor used a round file to file away some of the seat and the squeak completely went away.

Fast forward to the first flight after the completion of the annual, take off and taxi goes great, we fly around and do some light acro land and then when taxing back again I notice the squeak was back and I have to push on the breaks a little bit hard to get the plane to do what I want it too on the ground.

Is it possible the hard break line tube is starting to warp? I don't want to keep filing down the front seat if all that's doing is allowing the tube to flex more.
