Good morning,
REF: Stewart Systems Ekopoly topcoats on their Ekofil primer.
I am about to finish paint a one piece upper wing on a Fleet 16 that is 28’ long X ~4’ chord; about 220 sq ft for top and bottom. My sole Stewart Systems painting experience to date is a vertical fin and rudder.
I painted the fin and rudder flat and did each side in two different paint sessions. They turned out OK but with a little dry overspray on the first side while painting the second side.
For those of you that have used Stewart System Ekopoly, how have you painted your wings?
Have you suspended them vertically and painted both sides in one session?
Have you painted flat and then rolled to allow the opposite to be painted in the same session?
Have you done each side flat in two totally separate paint sessions?
The Stewart videos are great up until the final paint demonstrations and then they seem to demo small test panels only. I am having a hard time visualizing the best way to adapt the test panel techniques to this large one piece wing.
I appreciate any suggestions/tips.
Thanks!
