Trying to line up the final welding and I am in need of [constant] advice....
I am looking at the horizontal stabilizer supports. The S1-11 drawings call for fixed struts and are not adjustable. This means a certain exactness that might be tough. Obviously it would be tough to rig the plane and then ship it out to have them made, so as designed, I need to have them made locally. I have 2 questions. I dont understand the drawings on how the streamline tubing forms the ends. The ends in drawings are called doublers. This suggests that the streamline is bent first and then doublers are welded on. This seem incorrect. At least on one end. Is the streamline split and the bent and welded? Is there any instructions about making these things beyond the drawings?
Is there any reasons why these dont have an adjustable end? The S2B shows them as adjustable (https://aviataircraft.com/pix/S2BPartsCatalog.pdf). Any reason why they shouldnt be adjustable?
We have Whitman gear legs as per Wolf drawings. The trouble is the drawings dont elaborate on the brake line routing. The drawings for the spring gear have brackets for the flex line (to master cylinder) to the fixed line (going down spring gear). This bracket is not duplicated or specified in the leg drawings. Anyone know what the plan was for replacing that bracket when installing gear legs?
Certainly not last but.....when installing a A-930 push pull control, how are the cable housing ends suppose to be held. The pictures are not clear and I cant find how they are retained.
thanks,
