• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I found a CFI that is local (25) miles away that is going to work with me starting on Thursday this week. I have not flown in the last few weeks because I was waiting on the winds to get below 15 knots and I found an issue (I think) with my tail wheel, the steering arm is not as tight as it should be and I ordered parts to replace the worn parts. I plan to get the tail wheel in shape before Thursday and get some instruction in landing. The CFI has about 400 hrs in Stearmans andhe should be able to see if I am doing something wrong.
I hope that between the repair and the instruction, I will get more time in the air and progress my flying abilities. I wasted a great weekend of flying because of the tail wheel, I wanted so bad to fly on Saturday, it was my 49th birthday and not tofly on my birthday was sad, ButI plan to make it up as soon as I get my issues taken care of.
