I'm working on the S1 and have the wings on and just about rigged. I have a couple of questions for the pros here. First, the very thin material used for the lower wing root fairing has several cracks around screw holes and is splitting in a couple of places. What is the best materal thickness to order from ACS to replace it with. Also, the plane was recovered and painted white in 1988 in Stits and urethane, but I can't find the color code mentioned in the logs. It almost matches Krylon white which I could use and get away with as I will be re-building the plane in a couple of years anyway. Any issue with doing this?
Second, the painted fabric on the legs doesn't match the fuselage very well and is a bit darker. Again, the plane will be torn down and recovered later on, but I would really like to have it looking better that it does now. I was thinking of sanding and shooting a lighter colored white paint and wondering what my options are. I attached a picture where you can see the difference.
Thanks,
Don
