Are any of you using the AK-450 ELT. I am considering purchasing one and looking for mounting suggestions. I know phase one flight tests don't require an ELT but sooner or later I will need one and might as well get it figured out when I have time over winter.

I would like to mount it behind my head rest area in the turtledeck above my baggage compartment. I googled the installation instructions and it says an externally mounted antenna is required. If the turtledeck is fiberglass, wouldn't it work to just have the antenna mounted to the unit? What have you guys been doing?
