AN-X bolts-----silver color???

I just acquired a rather large selection of a AN bolts from the estate of a dear family friend that passed away a couple of months ago. Most of the larger bolts are sort of a mat finish silver. Is this an old cad process or zinc or ???


And----if you are in need of an AN-6 or -8 bolt, give me a holler---I just might have it-----
