Hi guys, we have an issue with our tail wheel assembly. Unfortunately our attachment to the body is not standard and the prongs are longer than standard. And if you look at the second picture from the end you can see the problem.
Since 2 out of the 4 springs are attached by screws those two will act as a scissor effect on the screw and cut it off. This happened to us and the whole tailwheel ripped of damaging the rudder and elevator...
We are considering using a thicker spring at the bottom, shortening the second spring by 2in so that it is outside if the block. With this we might be able to put the weakest point just aft if the block rather at the rear screw. And if the spring fails the damage will be less.
Any ideas/comments
