Had a nice day yesterday. Went to the Cheyenne Frontier Days airshow. Thunderbirds in the morning and light planes in the afternoon. Bull riding the night before. You guys think flying an airshow is dangerous, try strapping on a 2000 pound bull that has had a few other guys try to stay on his back. In the first round only one guy even stayed on for the full 8 seconds. Buck Roetman (Buckeagle) was there with his highly modified Eagle and his partner has a PW985 powered Stearman. Buck put on a veryprofessional airshow and it was fun to watch those dissimilar airplanes in formation.
During the briefing Buck asked how many jumpers would be exiting the jump plane as he and the Stearman would be circling the American Flag. I distinctly heard the answer as 12. When they came out 13 chutes appeared. I asked Buck about that afterwards and he got a little cranky about the mistake.........
It was nice to meet another forum member in person and put a face to the name.
