I lost a dear friend Saturday. He helped me on my Starduster Too and many other things. He taught me many things when I first broke into aviation as a mechanic. His name was Warren Ballard. I'm very glad I got to spend time with him. Ill miss our trips and the long nights we spent working on planes or other project or just drinking a beer enjoying conversation. I share this for two main reasons. One as a tribute to a real friend ill miss every time I work on a plane or do something we did. And second as a reminder to all to really enjoy the time we have with real friends. My Dad told me along time ago...you'll be able to count on one hand all your real friends in life. He's right. Blue skies and tailwinds ,Warren thanks for being my friend.
