Hi guys, just wondered how others have tackled this on an S1S. I’ve built my landing gear and positioned the brackets on the fuselage to the drawings.
This means that the distance between the two front landing gear bushes is 19.5 as specified on weld assembly drawing 2.....which also corresponds correctly to the landing gear drawing. This sits the outboard side of the bushes in line with the outboard edge of the longerons. The bottom of the fuselage is also correct at 20 inches.
The problem is that the brackets seem to sit quite a bit further outboard than is drawn on the plan (by around an eighth either side. Also the flying wire bracket bought from Steen doesn’t fit.
Has anyone else run into this??
I’ve attached a photo. The flying wire bracket is one that I’ve remade with a larger radius.
Thanks in advance for your help.
