Hi All,

I'm trying to understand the model options for a Basic Lyc 360, and how different models parts could be used to get a better tuned engine - Experienced by trying different things.

I have an O-360-A1D. I also have a set of Jugs from a HO-360-CIA. All have Lyc Standard parts - and these two models apparently have the same Wrist pin in plugs - per Parts Catalog.. However when looking at mine the A1D(also 30 yrs old) has full size plugs and a thinker wall wrist pin, the HO-360 has thinner wall pin (only 20 thouish) and reduced sized plugs. Weight wise the HO-360 Pistons and Pins are 50 grams heavier than the A1D - and the HO has a 2900 RPM Limit!

Other differences - the Inlet Rockers appears to have a higher ratio than Ex( has anyone tried using different items here(yes it would need rework for EX oil feed). Cam Shafts, Valve springs, Con rods, Lifters etc etc.

Has anyone played around with these "Standard" parts offerings and achieved something better? (Yes I know I could give a bunch of coin to Sky Dynamics) I'm interested in what is possible/been tried.

Regards
John
