Hello Pitts folks,

I'm looking into a new prop for my S-2B (experimental) and I'm considering either the MTV-9 (203 cm) or Whirlwind 400AC. Turns out the MT is only $1400 more expensive than the Whirlwind 400AC and may be overall less expensive considering the lower inspection interval. MT requires a 6 year overhaul with 2 year inspections for high gyroscopic maneuvers (which I don't do) and Whirlwind requires a yearly inspection regardless of the maneuvers flown (which I understand many people often stretch a bit...)

Anyway without getting too much into cost/maintenance, what are the performance differences between the props? Note that I'm specifically talking about the larger diameter MT (203 cm, not the older 190 cm) versus the newer Whirlwind 400AC. I've found some good data on the MT but not much on the newer Whirlwind.

Thanks,
Paul Klusman
