• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

New builder plans reading and tips?

I have never built an aircraft in my life and have just started to study my Acroduster plans. They seem confusing to me as a beginner, how do the plans stack up against other plans such as the Skybolt and can any of you guys point me towards some good books, videos and the like to help me get started? When I purchased the plans, Starduster was still in business and I figured that I could just buy the parts and materials as needed, but now I will have to do a little more thinking to get my project going. How did you guys get started? Does anyone know if Aircraft Spruce has any plans to make more components available for the Acroduster or are they just selling what is left of the Starduster inventory. Any tips are greatly appreciated.
