I say never let a new part of the project stop me from buying new tools. I always get excited with new tools, especially good ones.
I looked long and hard at the Harbor Freight shrinker/stretcher. In the end the Lancaster unit wasn't that much more expensive than the alternatives, and will last a very long time. I will use this for the 6063 aluminum angles around the firewall perimeter. Made in the USA.
I will be making the fitting firewall out of 304 and the final firewall out of 301-1/2 hard. The Roper- Whitney hole punch will be able to punch the rivet holes without hardening the holes from the cobalt drills. I will only need the cobalt drills for the 4 x 7/16" mount holes. Made in the USA in Rockford, IL.
The Rivet cutter will always be helpful. Rivet-Cut 04-17 USATCO, Ronkonkoma, NY. This of course is also made in the US.
Off to Discount Steel to pick up a 10'x4' 304 26 gauge sheet, as well as a 4'x8' 0.032" sheet of 6061T6.
