I have finished installed a smoke system onto my plane.
The system consists of the right aux tank (4.5gal) having been removed from the fuel system. From there, the oil passes though a 50 micron filter, pump, solenoid, bulkhead connector through the firewall, flexible hose to a "T" rigidly mounted to the engine, then two tubes delivering smoke oil to smoke oil injectors on the #3 & #4 exhaust stacks.
Electrical... independently fused 12V circuit, powers the pump and solenoid in parallel. Circuit is interupted by an inertia switch. Circuit is triggered by a lighted toggle switch located next to the throttle.
I still need to test the system to make sure I'm getting about 3/4 gallon flow per minute.
Having never operated smoke before, what are some do's and don't's regarding operating it. Engine temps? rpm? flight considerations?
I'm all ears.
Thanks,
Glenn
