I was lead to this site by a friend. Abandoned & Little-Known Airfields

I started a search for an Airfield called Beacon Field Airport near Washington DC.
My Granddad, Uncle and Father flew out of that airport in the 40's and 50's.
I was looking at some of the pictures and found a picture of my granddad.

My Uncle got his Multi check-out in that T-50 Bamboo Bomber.

Granddad, the one with glasses. That was around 1955.
He had a Ryan Stationair, Aeronca and a Lockheed Vega during that time. All my Dad had to do was put gas in it and fly them.
I never seen that picture until today.Edited by: dsnaproll
