• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Bill,
i am moving this to a new thread with just i-strut discussion.
i did check i-strut bolt to tailpost and it was within 1/2" on top wing.
My sketch using S1S plans and filling out the spars and rotating 1.5 degrees so the layout is plumb to the world measures 11 11/16". i am not at the airport but i will check tomorrow and report back.
i had the old strut in place when i tried my full sized plan template so the 1 degree washout in the top wing would rotate the strut back.
i am making your rigging boards and notice the drop down block for the S2 is not on your plans, does the plan work for all airfoils on S1 and S2's ?

PS; let me know if i did not draw it right, i will send the AutoCad file to your e-mail.
i do not have your e-mail, mine is [email protected], send me one and i will fwd the file.
