In case anybody has the same problem...
The Lycoming 540 with 10:1 pistons in my 'Bolt has always been hard to crank. I installed a new starter (B&C) and a new battery (Concorde), but not much changed. Today I installed a separate negative electric wire from the battery (behind my back) directly to the starter. Wow! Now it cranks super nice. Well worth the 3.9 m (13') of cable, in spite of its weight.
Cheers,
Trex
