• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hi All. I had my S1-S weighed yesterday in hope to have the information needed to safely change to a lighter prop with the knowledge without causing undue harm to the balance. But honestly I haven't a clue what do do with the numbers:

Right Main...***
Left Main.....***
TW...............**

Total...........***

(Sorry but before hitting the "Submit" button I had second thoughts about publishing numbers on a public forum.)

But I don't care so much about the weight. I care about the balance. My weight and balance is a copied version of the hand-drawn original from "Pitts Aviation Enterprises, INC". It starts at "page 7 of 15" and ends at "page 13 of 15". Missing is the datum and stations of various components such as the gear and the prop. So the numbers above are pretty useless (in addition to being a little disappointing). So I have a bunch of questions. But if nothing else, where is the datum located?
