In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hi all,
Long time reader, first time poster.
I am considering my options as to what I should purchase as my first aircraft. I currently rent an S2-A
I am leaning towards an S1-S for value for money, does having a fixed pitch prop make it any harder to do good comp aeros?
Is the weight of a CSU on say an S1-T worth it?
Is the extra cost worth it?
Are you fiddling around with the throttle a lot rather than what I currently do when flying a sequence, flat out and leave it there.?
Any other advice?
I have always been spoiled with a CSU.
