• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hi all. First of all let me say this is a great forum. I can't think of another forum that has more knowledge or a more professional acting membership.

Anyway, I'm a pilot flying Embraer regional jets. I've got ~300 hours tailwheel time in Cubs, a Maule, Luscombe, Citabria, Champ, RV4, and a few others. I came to this forum because of a long interest in aerobatics and homebuilding. For many years I've wanted nothing more to build or buy an RV. That was until a couple of weeks ago when I got a few minutes of stick time in Chopmo's Skybolt. (Jim, if you're reading this, thanks again for letting Tony give me a ride! Sorry about the ugly acro, its been awhile...)

Now that the biplane bug has bit, I'm spending quite a bit of time researching what would be best to buy/build. This forum has not been helpful in that regard because now I want a Pitts S1 (w/Wolf or Raven wings), S1-11B, and a Skybolt!

It will be a couple of years before I pull the trigger on any kind of a project, but in the meantime I get to learn from all of your collective experience and knowledge.

Happy New Years!

Jim Anderson
