HI Guys, First post but I've been lurking for a while trying to figure out what I am getting into. So her goes:
I have acquired a Starduster Too SA300 project. Built by my fathers best friend around 1971-1978, flew 1978 to mid 1990s when the builder became ill. Sat since then in a hangar as the family didn't know what to do with it until I needed a project and acquired it.
So I have lots of questions and am working to figure out a plan of approach. Any advice welcomed. I will try to post major questions in separate threads to keep things managable, but a quick intro--
25 years of dust.
I gave it a bath and pulled the engine for rebuild. Its an O-360 with PS5 pressure carb (junk?) and the Lycoming crank corrosion AD outstanding. So work to do there.
No wrecks, no ground loops, but after 25+ years everything needs attention. Looking forward to tapping into the knowledge on the forum and asking lots of dumb questions.
Chris
