Hello Folks,
Just nailed my aluminum leading edges on using first a center punch to act as a countersink and then a 1mm drill so that I don't strip the cement from the nail. This line of nails runs along the spars of course. When I run my finger across the line of nails I can feel some edges ie heads of nails which I am afraid might penetrate the fabric later. The question is, should I just cover it and forget it (there will be no cement or tape in this area normally) or should I put a strip of adhesive anti chafe tape there? What about cementing a 1" tape (maybe straight rather than pinked) along the nail line and then covering as normal? I'm thinking the latter might work. What do you think?
