• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Finally, just over 2 months after placing my order with Aviat, I took delivery today of the 902-R and 903-R wing rib kits. First impressions were that the boxes were a bit beaten up from the journey, however, on opening the boxes I was pleasantly surprised. The kits seem to be very nicely put together, and very comprehensive in the content. I didn't really get time to go through them in detail as I had to go to work:mad: but I did of course take the construction manual with me and had a good read of what lies ahead. The manuals, although last revised somewhere in the distant past are very well written and each step of construction is thoroughly explained. The kits themselves include pretty much everything, glue, nails, even some tools. I figure the only thing i need to complete these kits are a few number drills and a couple of hole saws. All the wood looks to be of top quality, and I can't wait to get started. I'll start with the lower wing rib kit, and give it a full inventory tomorrow. Then its time to produce my first jig for the partial ribs and get to work! Exciting times ahead:)
