• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

No, this mount will not work on an S-1S, not only are the four attach points in different locations, the socket angles are different, and the part of the mount that attaches to the engine is designed for an IO-540, not 360.

Give Steve Wolf a call, he's got a rod gear conversion kit for the S-1S, just send Tony your mount, he'll weld in the gear socket structure in a jig, powder coat and send back to you. Comes with gear leg fairings, wheel fairings, gear legs, all hardware, wheel pant mounting brackets and brake torque plates. Extremely nice quality.
