Today, we continued the wiring of my Skybolt.
Installation of the Steen fuel tank was months ago.
It a new tank. never used and not ready for fuel.
Having wired the tank sender to the gauge and flicked up the master switch, we noticed that the gauge needle moves and is reading as though there is a quantity of fuel in the tank. Picture attached.
Looking in, the float sender mechanism is resting on the aluminum floor of the upper tank section.
Q. Anyone with an idea of why this is showing some fuel?
Q. Is there a way to calibrate the system for empty?
This is curious!
Q. If the sender float probe touches the top floor, How is the reading of the fuel in the lower half of the tank taken into account?
