Hello guys
i have a question to the experts. In Germany fuel is expensive and we pay about 12$ and more for one gallon. Thinking about fuel consumption of my acrosportII i guess i have to sleep in a tent in future when i go with my friends on flying tours
So i read a lot of german articles about best economic leaning the engine when flying between 50-65% power setting
Some articles say the best is to lean the engine 50F less from the max EGT on the poor side. Arguments are that CHT is mostly influenced from the speed/aircooling and not from the cooling of a rich mixture.
Next point is that a poor mixture should be better for the spark plugs and hold them clean
I think the most people will lean 50F less on the rich side , cause engine damage.
What is your experience or opinion for best economic leaning
