I'm trying to recall the details of Lew Shattuck's S-1S from the late 70's, specifically the spinner he used. I think it was from a Grumman American airplane. It was a little larger in diameter compared to the stock Pitts spinner and had a really nice shape that fit the Pitts very well. I did a quick Google search but I didn't find any photos of that airplane.
My friend Eric Mingledorff has his short fuselage S-1S mostly together but he's not happy with the spinner. It looks a little too long and maybe bulkier than stock to my eyes so I can understand why he's wanting something else. He's running a metal prop.
I hope some of the old timers here might recall Lew's airplane and maybe even have a photo or two handy. Details on what he used would be great too.....
