"The tool is just a 6" length of rod, threaded at the end where you screw it into the plug and pull it out.

Six inches of 10-32 threaded rod from the hardware store will work fine."

With regards to the sump plug o- ring...... Its been state as above 10-32 from a hardware store... I am and will be away from my airplane for a week, but, last time at the hangar I was armed with a 10-32 rod from an old flying wire. It ould screw into a nut just fine, but I could not get it into my plug. I did not have a mirrior to look into the sump to see what was happening. I will not beable to get to the airplane till next week to check it out. I have been to several good hardward stores, and have been unable to fine threaded rod of 10-32. 10-24 is plentiful, and will at least start to go into a -32 nut. Might it be possible that the thread is 8-32? these are plentiful at the hardware store, and may explain why I could not get my 10-32 even started. My plug should be Christine, as the other components are.

Sorry for the "simple solution" post, but I will not be available to experiment for a while and would like to get er done and fly asap.

Thanks,
larry
