• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hello I am new to this site and am very interested in purchasing an already flying Skybolt. I would like to know from owners the goods and the bads that I will be up against with the Skybolt??? I am new to the aerobatic world and cant wait to get involved with the ups and downs of it all. :) I am interested on how the airframe holds up upon your annual inspections?? Is there any known issues I should be looking for???

I am also new to the biplane/fabric world too. Although I have flown in a Skybolt that I am really really liking and also an Acroduster II. I still currently own a Cherokee that I am preparing for sale. I have flown the RV's and really do not like their aerobatic weight ratios. I want to perform aerobatics with someone aboard if I choose and not have to worry. Also be able to go to more advanced maneuvers as time passes.

So any good/bad answers I can get with Skybolt - airframe, performance, fabric, etc., etc..... would be much appreciated.

Thank you, David
