Ok, I boughtthe S1fuselage hanging from the rafters and I have been checking the measurements versus the drawings and I have found (gasp!) discrepencies.
I have drawings for a S1-D (and wings). It shows the frt cabane 18 3/8 inches from fuselage and the rear at 17 7/8 inches. The fuselage just purchase has 18 3/8 and 17 5/8. This would tip the upper wing it would seem to me. By a lot.
The fuselage came with parts of 2 different drawings, both in a very yellowed condition. One partial set looked very much like the plans I have. The other has much more detail andmuch better drawings. The trouble with the one with more details is that the fuselage weld one is mostly unreadable. But it does look like it may some small differences where I can read it.
Question: is there a differenceon how the wingsattach between a S1-D and a S1-S? I assume the plans with more detail might be a S1-S (it shows a 360 as well). If there is, is it due to symetrical wings as opposed to flat wings? Is the angle a problem if I just attach the S1-D wings as it stands? If it is a problem, could I correct it with special wing attach plates?
I would like to get a copy of the equivalent drawing of the one that is unreadable to see if this was intentional or an error. In general the fuselage looks too nice to be an error. If anyone has a copy, I wouldnt mind a photo of it.
I thought the S1-D and S1-S had the same fuselage. Not true?
