Working on the carbon skins for the fuselage. First of all, was cool to hang out with both of my customers for this airplane at sun and fun, had a great time guys! Anyways, we are developing full fuselage carbon skins from the seat forward. I've been asked if they will be any lighter than the aluminum. Probably not, most likely a wash, although one could argue yes because you could cut the attaching hardware in half. But it's just gonna be so damn cool! First we are working on the cowling. Making that out of a splash from a wolf Pitts cowl but that won't work because the firewall is much wider so it's an ice teardrop as viewed from the top starting at the front cylinders. We got all the molds for the carbon skins made and whipped up some glass ones to get the lines of the cowling right and to just test fit them. After the cowling I will make the turtle deck. This is gonna be such an awesome airplane!
